Baroque (Gothic) art is dramatic, exaggerated, and ornate. Think of art you would see in a castle, European Cathedral, old church, or in a museum. Common subjects of Art in this era were angels, mythological characters, and kings and queens. Gold accents and details were also a common feature used to elevate the works. We will borrow from this era and use gold leaf as an accent in our works. However, as the artist, you must decide what in your work needs amplified or enhanced. Use the accents to elevate your work, not be the work! Students must bring their own labeled lunch and drink.
