SMARTS Off Beat Writing, Grades 4-8 (Natalie Wright)
If you like to experiment with old-fashioned, out of date, and/or archaic words, this class is for you. We will work with a daily list of outdated words. After you define them, you will add your own creativity and figure out how to use all the words on the list. For example: I opened my door to a group of young whippersnappers’ causing quite the kerfuffle, with a cacophony of sounds coming from a strange array of broken instruments. They stood in my doorway, wailing like a group of banshees. “We wish you a Merry…” Horrified, I stood bumfuzzled and discombobulated as they sang as loud as possible, excited for the upcoming Holiday. What new stories will these words uncover?
