SMARTS Painting Pollock Style, Grades K-3
Description
SMARTS Painting Pollock Style, Grades K-3 (Jennifer Carlson)
There are many different ways to start a painting: lightly sketching a plan, flicking paint, drawing with colored pencils, and so on. In this class we will experiment with drip painting. It is an interesting way to create Abstract Art and experiment with a style of painting that was popularized by Jackson Pollock. Abstract Art has been around for over 100 years. It is a style that captivates and intrigues and it is often considered non-representative, as the works that are created are not replicas of objects we see around us. This style is a way to explore movement, color, line, tone, texture, and form. It is a chance to test our boundaries while creating art.
