SMARTS Shakespearean Parodies, Grades 4-6

Description

SMARTS Shakespearean Parodies, Grades 4-6 (Jeremiah Kibler)

“All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players” – (As You Like It, A2S7). William Shakespeare needs no introduction, he is arguably the most popular playwright in the world, with over 38 plays, 154 sonnets and various other poems. These works span over the genres of comedy, history, tragedy and etc. In this class, you will get to re-mix Shakespearean scripts: be a princess, nobleman, duke, member of the high court or a commoner. Challenge your classmates to a duel, create insults, flirt with a fair lady, crack jokes and experiment with words that no longer exist. This is an opportunity to experiment with theatre masterpieces and create witty works of your own!
